Kate saw a young buzzard hit by a car on the A487 from Llanrhystud. She stopped, found it alive and called me. When I arrived it seemed to have recovered from shock but clearly was not well so we took it to a local vet for overnight observation.

Welcome to 'Weasel Winter '. We had a report of a pine marten sighting... it was, of course, a polecat and has been seen twice since. Also, two weeks ago I saw a stoat coming out from the beech hedge opposite the chalet. Both animals are members of the weasel family, Mustelidae, which includes the otter and the badger.

Barn owls have been using a nesting box, which we put in our dissused milking parlour, for the past 6 years. Each year they lay between 4-6 white eggs and after about 33 days incubation, successfully raise 3-4 young. After ringing, these stunning juveniles fly 9-12 weeks later

Every year swallows nest in the garage. This year they have raised two broods, a four and a five. They arrive, usually in April, raise their young, feeding on the millions of insects we have in the trees bushes and fields, and now it is time for them to leave.

This spectacular raptor can be seen daily soaring above the Park. Nests have been built, of sticks and mud, lined with wool, moss or hair and even paper and we think that this bird has nested nearby. The 2-3 white, speckled eggs, laid in April/May, will incubate in about 30 days.
